The Challenge

The company faced increasing portfolio complexity and cost pressures in a competitive, regulated market.

  • High product complexity: Overlapping features across acquired and legacy portfolios.
  • Cost pressures: Margin protection required in price-sensitive markets.
  • Limited standardization: Components and subsystems varied across products.
  • Need for structured approach: Ensuring quality, compliance, and sustainability while simplifying the portfolio.

Real Results Achieved Together

The 360° Value Engineering program delivered measurable cost reductions, portfolio simplification, and a sustainable methodology for future product development.

Our Approach

EFESO implemented a structured 360° Value Engineering methodology in three phases:

Pilot Projects & Initial Deployment

  • Selected two pilot projects, later expanded to a third.
  • Led cross-functional teams through structured re-engineering of product families.

Holistic 360° Value Engineering Approach

  • Applied six VE methodologies: Voice of the Customer, DFM/DFA, Supply Chain Optimization, Function Analysis, Performance Teardown, and Benchmarking.
  • Introduced a Design Overlap step to streamline offerings and reduce SKUs.

Training & Long-Term Adoption

  • Trained 10 cross-functional employees in VE methodology.
  • Expanded VE deployment to additional projects with EFESO guiding newly trained teams.
